Energy and Utilities Analyst

Your challenge

From advising national government on energy policy to using sophisticated modelling techniques to assess the investment value of a wind-farm development, your work as an analyst in Energy & Utilities will be diverse and stretching. Working as a member of multi-disciplinary teams, you'll be offered early responsibility and high visibility. Meanwhile, your skills in quantitative analysis will be used to the full. Working on high-profile projects in the Energy & Utilities sector, our experts advise a wide range of clients on issues such as regulation, policy, valuation and commercial strategy. We have a global perspective, with teams working out of London, New York, Boston, Denver, Frankfurt and Wellington.

Your role in Energy & Utilities

You can expect to support an assignment manager in delivering advice to clients in the energy and utilities sector. Typically, you will develop recommendations based on in-depth research, rigorous analysis of data sets and comprehensive insights into client issues. Preparing and delivering reports and presentations is an important part of the role.  Although you'll be based in London, you can expect opportunities for business travel.

As part of the team, you will be given an opportunity to work on both internal and external assignments. At PA you’ll have the license to think innovatively when it comes to achieving the best outcomes for our clients.

This role starts in September 2017, although there may also be some opportunities to start in March 2017.

Job Requirements

What you'll bring to Energy & Utilities:

  • A maths degree (minimum 2:1) with track record of excellent academic performance
  • Strong interest in energy and utilities sector demonstrated either through relevant work experience or degree modules
  • A talent for quantitative analysis and a passion for problem-solving
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills 
  • Willingness to travel on business
