Relations with Management

8.3 / 10

(based on 15 ratings in 2016)

"Management is very approachable and open to having discussions about career development with people of any rank. My only criticism would be that there needs to be more structured development in place."

"Managers are very easily accessible. They work in the same area as all staff so it's easy to talk to the person you need if they are in the office. You are given a buddy and encouraged to find a mentor but everyone is always ready to offer advice."

"Managers are great and my line manager has been brilliant, always up for a chat if I need advice. My assignment manager is very easy to talk to and is helping me to develop personally alongside the project. You don't really talk to the partners much as they are very busy. However, when they're around they'll say hi to the team. Our partner introduced himself to me on my first day and will always smile and say hi when he sees me around the office."
Graduate, London
"As the hierarchy is flat, there is a good level of communication between management and employees. My line manager is also incredibly supportive, acting more as a mentor than a boss. Due to the varied nature of consulting, the person you report to can change a lot, which has its pros and cons."
Graduate, London
"PA is a great size and junior staff regularly work with senior people, which is not just great for development but it also means that, across the organisation, staff are aware of progress and news. Efforts are recognised and rewarded and PA puts a lot of emphasis on feedback and personal development."
Graduate, London
"In general, line managers and management are always trying to help. You set how often you interact with these people and there is a good feedback system."
Graduate, London
"There's a good structure where you feel as if you can chat with most people. We get transparent performance reviews with regular feedback."
Graduate, London
"Senior consultants and partners are very accessible. When they're not too busy with clients, they are always more than happy to meet up with you and find out about your background and where you'd like to take your career with PA."

"There are no barriers whatsoever: partners were incredibly warm and welcoming, and will happily sit down with you for a coffee on joining."
Entry level, Leicester
"Most partners here interact pretty well, and although the chief-level is a bit clouded away, it is understandable. It depends on the person, but generally management staff here are very down to earth."
