I found my job at Philips by searching Glassdoor for commercial graduate opportunities that allowed me to rotate between different roles throughout the scheme. I am halfway through the scheme now and my first year in marketing consisted of understanding our customers and creating a communication plan for them, providing marketing support to the digital team to launch an eCommerce platform, and the events team at several events. Everyone on the grad scheme attended monthly ‘development days’ for the first year, as well as being assigned online and classroom trainings (e.g. Lean and PRIDE). 

Personal highlights for me have been going out with members of our field based team allowing me to actually meet our customers and learn from the team what customers like or don’t like about us. It’s also been great being given trust and responsibility from the start, I haven’t been micromanaged which has given me the opportunity to prove myself. I really enjoy working for Philips and I appreciate the genuine focus on health for the employees as well as our customers – there’s fruit in the office every week, there are mindfulness, resilience and nutrition workshops available, and we have yearly health checks.
