National Graduate Leadership Programme - Hertfordshire
Police Now’s mission is to transform communities, reduce crime and increase the public’s confidence in policing, by recruiting and developing outstanding and diverse individuals to be leaders in society and on the policing frontline.
Police Now gives exceptional graduates like you the opportunity to become police officers and transform challenged and often deprived communities. For many people, crime and the fear of crime is an everyday experience. Join us on our two-year programme, and you’ll develop a rewarding career while helping to improve lives, not just for today, but for generations to come.
It’s an experience no other graduate employer can match. We’ll train you to be a leader in your community as a police officer in a specific area right from the start. You’ll develop your skills in negotiation, problem solving, decision-making as well as your resilience and emotional intelligence – all invaluable skills in policing and all transferable to any profession.
Leadership Development Programme
The Police Now programme will enable you to make a disproportionately positive impact on the lives of many people. Over the 2 years you will develop your leadership and problem solving skills to help maximise that impact.
The Police Now Summer Academy is an intensive six-week training programme designed and delivered by outstanding, high performing frontline police officers, many of whom are or have been neighbourhood constables and sergeants themselves. At the Summer Academy you will participate in practical sessions and assessments to ensure you have everything you need and are ready for your first day in your neighbourhood.
The Summer Academy is innovative, dynamic, inspiring and challenging. Training is delivered through a mixture of classroom-based and practical activities – including seven full shifts of field training where participants gain real experience on the streets of a busy neighbourhood. The training meets and exceeds the College of Policing foundation police training requirements and includes all mandatory training to ensure you are equipped with all the skills you need to be effective in a neighbourhood-policing role.
