Private Banking Internship
Take your first steps into a career in Private Banking, by joining one of our unique programmes focused on relationship management.
About the programmes
Within the Private Banking pathway, we have two internship options you can join us on - Relationship Management with Coutts, and Relationship Management with Adam & Company.
We’ve designed these ten week summer internships to give you direct experience of the work we do in Private Banking, our goals and our team culture.
Whichever Private Banking pathway you join, you’ll establish a network that will help you make an excellent start to your career. We’ll help you develop your skills so you’re able to deliver first class solutions for our clients. You’ll support us to provide high net worth clients with relationship support and understand their challenges.
On all programmes, you’ll be rewarded with a salary of £21,500 pro rata, depending on location.
All internships provide a great opportunity to:
- Develop your skills, and build some new ones
- Meet new people and grow your professional network
- Deepen your understanding of private banking
- Experience our team culture and values
- Get stuck into a real life project and add value to the business
- Gain valuable career experience, which will inspire your future career choices
For us, it’s also about finding and engaging talented and passionate people, who’ll make a difference to our business in the long term. That’s why if you complete the internship successfully, and enjoy the experience, there could be a place available for you on our 2020 Private Banking graduate programme.
What you'll do
The internship starts with an induction. You’ll then begin a ten week placement, where you’ll attend training workshops, get involved with our day to day work, and take part in a business improvement project with fellow interns.
We’ll pair you up with a ‘buddy’ and a line manager you’ll support you for the full ten weeks. Your buddy will be a current graduate who’ll help you get settled by sharing their experience. Your line manager will provide guidance and support throughout the programme, and help you grow your professional network.
To be eligible for our internship programmes, you’ll need to be in your penultimate year of a university degree, and on course for a 2:1 or above.
You’ll also need sharp analytical skills, paired with an interest and dedication to self development.
You’ll have fantastic communication skills, both written and verbal, and a strong team work ethos. You’ll enjoy working with people, and a desire to learn when it comes to relationship management.
