The programme

As a graduate on our Health & Safety Graduate Development Programme, you’ll complete three six-month placements to build your knowledge and experience. It’s all about giving you an immersive, hands-on experience. We’ll make sure you have the first-class training and support you need to become a health and safety technical specialist, and you’ll learn from some of the most respected and highly qualified professionals in the field. 

What you’ll do

You’ll spend time working with health and safety colleagues both in our central teams and out on site – there might even be an opportunity to travel to some of our overseas locations. It could be that you’re supporting our Civil Aerospace business, implementing corporate safety standards, conducting risk assessments, organising training, and developing local audits and assurance programmes. Or in the central team, you could help to improve our safety programmes and standards before communicating the changes to the global business. Out on site, you’ll be able to see the different HS&E challenges first-hand, and project work will help you to grow your knowledge and technical expertise across a broad range of topics. As you develop, you’ll provide advice, assurance, consultancy and support to process or site managers. This is your chance to play a key role in ensuring we can continually achieve and exceed our exacting HS&E standards.

What you’ll need

We’re looking for graduates with a 2:1 in Health & Safety (or in a degree with related modules) and a demonstrable business aptitude. With industrial, factory or operational health and safety experience, you’ll be able to understand a process, identify, assess and manage the risks, and spot opportunities to drive improvements. You’ll be working towards becoming a technical health and safety specialist and leader, so across everything you do, you’ll bring courage, integrity and a flair for delivering results. Your strong relationship skills mean you know how to earn trust and inspire respect. Languages are highly desirable.
