Technology Graduate Programme

Delivering innovative technology solutions that can drive improvements in our service has never been more important. On our technology programme you’ll learn to design, test and manage all kinds of new software, manage client relationships and have an impact on our technology infrastructure. From an early stage, you’ll be helping to achieve real business objectives and gaining senior-level contacts. All in all it’ll be a very firm foundation for your future career.

About the programme

From problem analysis and application design to managing client interfaces, this programme encompasses a wealth of technical learning, practical support and structured leadership training. Over the two years on the programme, you’ll undertake up to four separate placements and gain experience in all Royal Mail technology disciplines, including Enterprise Architecture, Strategy and Security, Service Delivery and Project Management, plus exposure to how we run the Technology department itself.
Ultimately, this scheme is designed to give you the skill set and experience to progress to a senior leadership role. And to help you get there, we’ll support you in achieving professional qualifications to support your placements and build your future career.

What we’re looking for

If you’re keenly analytical with standout communication skills and a passion for technology design and development, this programme could be for you. An IT degree (or similar) would be a distinct advantage, as would the people skills to work successfully in a dynamic commercial environment. Show us that you’ve got what it takes to develop the platforms and infrastructure to help us deliver the service our customers and employees expect, and you could make a real difference to Royal Mail.

Technology is crucial to every part of our business, so we have bases at various sites up and down the country. This’ll give you the chance to work on a national scale – engaging in key projects and delivering real strategic business outcomes – so you’ll need the right to work full time in the UK for the duration of the programme.
