RWE Supply & Trading

IT Graduate Programme

Make your future career a done deal

Do you love to play around with the latest innovative technologies? Would you like to work alongside experienced IT experts and some of the brightest and most creative people in the field? Are you looking for an opportunity to grow as an IT professional, building up your knowledge across various functions while gaining extensive insights into the IT world? Then the RWE IT Graduate Programme is the perfect opportunity for you.

The programme involves doing four six-month rotations over two years. Each rotation will give you real projects to work on and there will be carefully defined targets to ensure you are always reaching your full potential. Even better, you will have the ability to choose the rotations yourself, so you can opt for the areas you’re most interested in, whether it’s infrastructure management, IT security, IT project management, application development or procurement management, to name just a few.

Who are we?

RWE Group is a powerful player at the forefront of the energy industry – and our IT functions help keep us there. Without them, our Supply & Trading business wouldn’t be able to trade in new areas across the globe. Our generation business wouldn’t be able to deliver power to millions of people. Our organization wouldn’t be able to drive efficiencies and innovation as effectively as it does.

To be best in class we have forged close partnerships with leading technology companies including Amazon, Apple, IBM, Microsoft and SAP. We have an open and modern culture embracing new ways of working including agile techniques that foster collaboration to deliver high performance.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for bright, talented graduates who are passionate about IT, digital technology and innovative solutions and who believe that the world can be made a better place through the use of IT technology. Your degree (2:1 or above) can be in any discipline, although an IT focus would be ideal. What is essential is that you love learning, have plenty of curiosity and are the kind of person who likes to challenge the status quo and ask why. Strong analytical and communication skills are important. We also need you to be fluent in English and, ideally, good at German as well (but this is not essential). Some relevant work experience would be very useful.

What do we offer?

You’ll enjoy a competitive salary and benefits package including:

  • company pension
  • private healthcare
  • financial assistance when moving from your base location
  • flexible benefits, including discounts at shops
  • on-site gym
  • free eye care
  • paid subscription to membership of relevant associations, e.g - Young Energy Professionals

To help you get the most out of the programme, we’ll assign you a previous graduate as a buddy and allow you to select your preferred senior mentor who can advise you on rotations and introduce you to key people. We also offer a wide range of development opportunities, including networking events where you’ll get to meet senior managers and the board.

Where will your career go next?

The only way is up! Many of our graduates are still working within the RWE Group long after their programmes have finished – and the skills you gain on the IT Graduate Programme will provide you with the perfect springboard for your future career.
