Our Programme in Reservoir Engineering
As a Reservoir Engineer for Shell you’ll get the opportunity to work with industry-leading technologies on some of the world’s most pioneering oil and gas projects. As part of a highly skilled team of experts you will stimulate Shell’s technological innovation and work towards a sustainable global energy future. Developing a detailed understanding of the distribution of oil, gas and water across our sites, you’ll make significant contributions to Shell’s Upstream operations while mapping out a rewarding career path through one of the world’s most forward-thinking energy companies.
You will join a structured two to three-year learning programme that will ensure you have the skills and experience needed to enable you to become a future company thought-leader and an essential part of Shell’s delivery of global operational excellence.

The application process for our graduate programmes is rigorous, but is designed to enable the most talented graduates to stand out. After submitting an online application, you will be invited to complete our online assessments and our on demand interview. Successful candidates will be invited to final stage of the selection process in a virtual assessment. This stage includes a live virtual case study session with two Shell employees who will host the discussion. You will be assigned a topic relating to an aspect of your case, and then asked to prepare a presentation.
Through this process we will be assessing candidates’:
- Capacity – the intellectual ability to analyse and apply unfamiliar information to complex situations.
- Achievement – the ability to identify and manage resources in order to deliver results.
- Relationship-building – the ability to work within, and lead, diverse teams
- And, for Technical candidates, Technical expertise.
