7.2 / 10

(based on 5 ratings in 2016)

2016

"The firm does offer training courses throughout the training contract, which are good. We also have to do two 'do-it-yourself' presentations on a topic of interest to the other trainees, which is a good way to practise your presentation skills."

"Trainees have to give presentations to each other on legal topics that we find interesting. There are also other presentations given by partners and associates covering various practice areas at the firm and recent legal updates."

"Training consists mainly of lunchtime presentations on a variety of legal-related skills - due diligence, incorporating companies, registering security, transaction management and so on."

"We get trained by various people across the firm on a regular basis. The programme is structured very well and the firm is very open to feedback. We get to know the kind of deals the firm is working on, get to see how the departments work together and what it would be like to work in or with the departments that the people making the presentation are working in."

"The training programme is good. We have a very structured programme which includes regular training sessions on legal topics such as "a typical acquisition" or "due diligence." We also are required to give at least two presentations over the two years, on a topic of interest, which is great as it helps improve your presentation skills."

"In my experience we tend to learn on-the-job with some formal training dotted throughout our training contract."
Second year trainee, London

2013

"The firm runs a comprehensive training programme for its trainees that covers a variety of topics, including IT, library resources and various technical matters."
First year trainee, London
"Training sessions are arranged for the trainees at fairly regular intervals on a range of different subjects. Sometimes the timing can be a bit strange as some people are already very experienced in the area we are being told about and it would have been more useful to them to have had the session earlier. DIY sessions provide a chance for trainees to work on their presentation skills and to let others know what they have been working on."
First year trainee, London
"There is an internal training programme run throughout the course of the training contract to supplement the on-the-job learning in each of the seats undertaken as well as the Professional Skills Course. The training that I received throughout the course of my training contract has been fantastic and has continued post qualification."
Newly qualified solicitor, London
"Very thorough and frequent training programmes are delivered."
