Join the Sixt UK management trainee programme and you’ll be taken on a complete journey of business management. On the 18 month scheme you’ll be based in our branches working beside some of our most amazing, experienced managers. In addition to the on the job training you will also be exposed to some great class room based workshops and time working with the various HQ teams in the office.
You’ll join us as a management trainee and develop skills in all areas, from sales and marketing to customer service and finance. So it really is a general management scheme. The hands-on and workshop business training includes:
- Management skills: leadership, training, mentoring, people skills and soft skills, and looking at the big picture.
- Business management: cost control, profits, growth, account management, employee development and administrative skills.
- Marketing: how to gain new customers both retail and corporate.
- Sales: how to increase revenue by generating more sales.
- Customer service: taking reservations, handling customer enquiries, problem solving and delivering cars to customers.
- Fleet control: how to handle repairs, and getting the right number and type of cars in your fleet.
The ultimate goal of the scheme is to get you ready to become a Branch Manager with in your own site. However there is also the opportunity to specialise if you find an area of the business you’re particularly interested in, for example HR, Fleet, Corporate Sales, Damage, to name just a few.
You’ll start off as a management trainee, in as little as 6 to 9 months, you could move up to a Junior Branch Manager. From there, you’ll continue your training and you could become a Branch Manager within the 18 months.
Throughout our graduate programme, there’s a series of milestone sign offs and evaluations, after which you’ll be eligible to receive pay increases, rewards, and more opportunities for progression. The speed you work through the programme will be governed by you. There is so much to take on, you need to be ready for a lot of hard work.
Sixt is an international company with sites all over the world and a successful management trainee will always be front of the queue to apply for all these opportunities.
You’ll almost certainly be a junior branch manager within the year and branch manager in 18 months. Then, it’s up to you how fast you move – there’s senior branch manager, area manager, operations director and then who knows you might just be running the whole company.
We have varied senior roles in the business and it’s up to you how you want to progress into them. Opportunities at Sixt are endless!
