Graduate Programme 2017 - Planner

Skanska, a leading construction company and developer, is an inclusive and responsible business that is helping to build a better society. Known for major projects like the Gherkin and Crossrail, we are creating, upgrading and maintaining the country’s buildings and infrastructure. Drawing on our Scandinavian heritage, we are green, innovative and progressive. We bring together people and technology, helping to make our industry safer and more collaborative.

Joining us as a Graduate Planner, you will work as part of the project team, utilising your problem solving skills to overcome logistical issues, such as heavily congested city centre working and constrained live environments. You will put together series of programmes covering all construction activities and sequences, along with 3D drawings showing methodologies from initial concept, and planning drawings through construction to successful hand over. Your role is key for coordinating all strategies and ideas and you will help put these into action. You will be integral to Skanska’s success story through monitoring, controlling and adapting programmes alongside project leaders.

Educated to 2:1 degree level, having completed a BSc or MSc in a construction related subject, you’ll have a strong passion for the construction industry. You’ll be naturally analytical, confident in problem solving and have excellent commercial awareness. Above all, you’ll adhere to our ethics and values in everything you do, building strong relationships and working with high standards and sustainable choices in mind. We expect all graduates to be flexible with regards to location and be prepared to relocate during the programme if required.

You’ll have the opportunity to care for people and the environment, to be accountable for future generations, and to not only foster an inclusive culture where we are open and fair, showing trust and respect for one another, but also one where everyone can speak their mind. Are you ready to build for a better society?

Programme start date: 11th September 2017

The deadline for applications is Wednesday 20th November 2016 and assessment centres will be held in November and January.

We would like you to perform at your best at every stage of our recruitment process. Please contact us if you require any adjustments that would support you throughout your application.

The UK Government have taken steps to reduce net migration to the UK by limiting the number of overseas workers from outside the EEA coming to the UK for employment. Please note that whilst we are able to consider applications from overseas workers from outside the EEA (who require a Tier 2 (General) visa) we can only employ them if we can provide evidence that there are no other suitable candidates for this vacancy from inside the EEA.
