Mechanical & Electrical Engineering Graduates
Graduating this summer – what about a career with SMC?
SMC Corporation is the world’s largest and leading manufacturer of pneumatic components and systems for industrial automation and mechanisation. You may never have heard of us, but many of the things you encounter in daily life were probably made using automation equipment incorporating our products.
Our European Technical Centre, located in Milton Keynes, is a centre of technical excellence, providing product and application support together with design and development resources for the European market. Engineers from Japan and many European countries work together using their technical expertise to providing innovative solutions for our industrial automation customers
A career with SMC can be an incredible one. Many of our top engineers started as Graduates and have progressed to become high-level specialists in their field.
Would you like to be one of them?
This summer we will be recruiting talented graduate engineers to operate within one of our specialist Engineering teams covering:
- Pneumatic and Electrical Actuators.
- Fluid control valves, Air preparation equipment, Thermal control products.
- Electronic sensors, Fieldbus I/O devices, Wireless control products, Ionisers.
To be considered, you’ll need an Honours degree in either Mechanical or Electrical/Electronic Engineering. You will need to be able to communicate effectively with our SMC Engineers and customers from a range of European countries, as well as Japan. Therefore in addition to English, it would be ideal if you have knowledge of other European languages and even better if you have familiarity with Japanese, though neither is essential.
After initially working under the supervision of experienced engineers, you will quickly progress to become responsible for your own projects, so you should have a high level of self-motivation and the initiative needed to work independently. But you will also need to be a good team player when working with our other engineers in ETC, Europe and Japan on our larger projects.
These roles represent an excellent opportunity to embark on a career with a world leading organisation and where you will get involved in special products requests, technical enquiries, product research & solutions, as well as the design and development of new products for the European market.
Though the focus of your role will be office based, there will be some international travel as business needs dictate.
We are holding a graduate applicant open day on 10th April 2019 – apply quickly to secure a place
We are an equal opportunities employer offering an attractive starting salary + great company benefits.
