Global Operations Graduate Vacancies 2017

Global Operations plays an important part in all areas of our global investments business. It consists of a number of interlinked roles, supporting the investment management process and the distribution of our products. At the centre of this support is the management of client and supplier relationships as we look to build scalability and flexibility in to our operations.

As a graduate you will have responsibility and exposure to the senior leadership. You could be involved in the pricing of our funds & assets, ensuring that our Investment Team & Client Managers have the right information in the right systems to do their job, or ensuring that the service we get from our outsourced service providers is fit for purpose. This will be a combination of both business as usual task and project work.

You will complete four rotational placements, with on the job training and support; you will be involved in challenging work and projects. You will have an opportunity to experience working in different areas of the business, gain a thorough understanding of how we operate. It’s experience that can help you decide how your shape your future career – whether it’s as a technical leader in a particular field, or as a strategic leader managing multiple teams.

Throughout, there is great support. You’ll have opportunities to learn from senior leaders, through mentoring relationships and end-of-placement presentations. We also offer study support towards the Investment Operations Certificate (IOC) and Investment Management Certificate (IMC).

This programme is open to applicants of all degree disciplines (with a minimum 2.1). We look for graduates to come and work with us who are ambitious, self-motivated, and demonstrate a real willingness to learn. In addition successful people in Global Operations would be expected to show the following qualities;

  1. Ability to connect & collaborate globally with internal stakeholders, external clients, and our outsourced service providers
  2. Building your own and making best use of existing technical knowledge in the company to deliver a service for our clients
  3. Regularly generating & implementing new ideas and improving processes to ensure we remain front of foot in delivering for Standard Life Investments
  4. Being confident in your ability to manage & deliver change in the organisation, and remaining resilient throughout the change process
