Real Estate Finance Internship
The Real Estate Finance team supports the Real Estate front office through the provision of value add advice and support in financial decision support, financial management, tax advice, tax structuring, tax compliance reporting and supplier management.
- Financial models and reports prepared in a timely manner to support fund management decision making.
- An analysis and update of budget of spend on key suppliers;
- Transfer pricing and intercompany loan documentation kept up to date; and
- VAT compliance reporting completed in a timely manner.
Fixed Income Credit Internship
The role of the Credit Intern is to provide analysis in support of the team’s management of corporate bond holdings for the firm’s clients. Analysis will be focused on UK and European corporates and financial issuers. A responsibility of the Credit Intern may be the production of company and sectorial research, or a specific project impacting portfolio positioning and strategy. The role will be based in Edinburgh.
We are looking for someone who is hard-working, enthusiastic, numerate, who has the ability to analyse and think for themselves, who wishes to learn about credit analysis and investments, and who will fit in to a strong team culture. Excel and or/modelling skills will be useful.
Multi Asset Investment Internship
Our Multi Asset and Macro Investing team plays a big part in our global success. It's a growing team - now 70-strong - with responsibilities ranging from portfolio, risk and business management, to strategy, thought leadership and analysis.
The MAI Strategy team are responsible for analysing and researching global economic issues and feeding these into the investment process.

Money Markets & Foreign Exchange Internship
In Money Markets and Foreign Exchange, we’re responsible for cash and currency management in our business. The team manages about £50bn in cash investments, and trades around £400bn of foreign exchange transactions each year. It also offers a currency advisory service for our investment professionals.
We’re looking for highly numerate, analytical minds, and excellent communication skills. People who are excited about working in a trading environment, with the ability to perform under pressure. And people who will take real responsibility for their work.
Global Sales, part of our Global Client Group, are responsible for generating profitable institutional and wholesale sales across our worldwide operations. Our success comes from building relationships with a diverse group of contacts including pension funds, multi-managers/fund of funds, investment consultants, intermediaries and sovereign wealth funds. In addition we aim to build asset flow via the Standard Life platforms and with global financial institutions and third-party platforms.
In the internship you’ll play a key role in linking the needs of your sales colleagues to the requirements and needs of the wider business. This requires excellent networking and collaboration skills, as you’ll be working alongside colleagues from right across our group, including legal, marketing, operations and our asset class teams.
Global Client Relations Internship
Our Global Client Relations function works to maximise client reach, retention and relationships. Its activities include relationship management, marketing, research and insight – across institutional, wholesale and retail channels in 48 markets worldwide.

Global Operations Internship
Global Operations plays an important part in all areas of our investments business. It consists of a number of interlinked roles, supporting the investment management process and the distribution of our products.

Standard Life Wealth Internship
Standard Life Wealth is our discretionary investment management business. Our Operations team work with client portfolio managers – supporting the operational administration and client service activities required for our clients’ investments. We are keen to hire an intern for 2017 to work within Operations in either London or Edinburgh.
For interns, there’s the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of the client journey – from the initial contact and account set-up, right through to account closures. You’ll gain first-hand experience of building relationships with clients. Through your project work, you’ll also gain great insight into the change management process.
