Summer Internship - Project for Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering undergraduate
This business works with safety critical engine equipment across multiple applications including nuclear, military, power generation and oil and gas, as well as local authorities. They are well-established and hold contracts with major oil and gas companies and represent one of the world’s leading engine manufacturers.
They are looking for a Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering undergraduate to work with them in the Summer to complete a project.
You will be interacting with engineers to help develop standardisation across common workshop activities; you will be reviewing current procedures for overhauling a wide variety of assemblies, all the way up to complete units and develop a standard operating procedure that can be used internally for consistency. This will in turn help to improve quality and effectiveness.
Required skills include an understanding of mechanical engineering; good attention to detail; working in a systemised approach; good communication skills.
This will give you the opportunity to understand real life engineering procedures and the benefits of consistency. And it will look great on your CV.
With a team of 23 staff, plenty of support will be available for you.
Based to the south of Colchester.
The internship will last between 8-12 weeks and you will receive £9.50 per hour pay.
