Graduate Internships: Land Referencing / GIS
If you are a graduate in Geography, Civil Engineering, Planning or Law and are still considering your options, a career in Land Referencing could be for you. Large infrastructure projects such as HS2, road building and major developments all require in depth research into the ownership and rights over the land on which the project will be built. We are looking for enthusiastic graduates to complete internships with a growing organisation with a view to seeing whether this could be a career path for you.
Land referencers support parties affected by these large projects to investigate land ownership and the rights that affected parties may have over the land. This could be owners, tenants, mortgagees as well as those with sporting rights, access rights or other benefits of the land. Projects include road, nuclear, rail, utility, gas storage and wind farms as well as private and public sector clients.
The work of the land referencers includes:
- Research and investigation into land ownership.
- Working with spread sheets & databases.
- Use of GIS and CAD software in the preparation of Compulsory Purchase Orders.
- Occasionally working onsite.
The roles are based in Telford, Shropshire and are being offered as paid internships based on the national living wage of £7.50 per hour. It is envisaged that following a successful 12-24 week internship, interns will be offered a permanent role.
