Graduate Business Internship - Shipping Industry
The shipping industry is at the heart of much of what we do - many other businesses rely on shipping companies to export and import their goods and raw materials across the world.
This business is one of the leading players in the global shipping industry, and has offices throughout the world. They have a reputation for providing customer-focused solutions, a quality-through-excellence approach and continual innovation - including the use of information technology and e-commerce to manage the entire cargo process.
They have an excellent record of taking on and developing graduates, and are now looking for someone to join their customer service department - in fact, this is to replace an intern who has just been taken on permanently by them in a different role before her internship ended.
You will be assigned a permanent staff member to work with on a project to review the data analytics that the company has access to and see if there is a better way to use the information to help improve their service to customers, and ensure that they are making the most of these relationships.
The business is expecting to expand in the UK next year, and you will be helping to prepare the company for this with specific projects. Having new people with new ideas is always welcomed and this also encourages permanent staff to think outside the box too.
You should be a recent graduate, and suitable degrees would include Marketing; Business Administration; economics; or Maritime / Logistics based ones, though others will be considered if you have some experience with data analysis. You will need good all-round IT skills, including Excel, and good numerical skills.
The offices are based approximately mid-way between Ipswich and Felixstowe.
There is a possibility the role may become permanent, though this is not guaranteed- but either way, this piece of experience will be a fantastic addition to your CV.
Ideal start date is 19th February.
Sound good? If so please apply asap-the closing dates on our advertising are for guidance only and we always encourage early applications where possible.
Once your application is received via email, suitable applicants will be invited to register and apply for the role via an online process. This is to ensure that the correct consents are collected in relation to the processing of your data.
