Graduate Software Developer
My client is a privately owned software development company based in London. They are specialists in the delivery of software consultancy and bespoke, custom-built software solutions along with offering expert software development training.
The business focuses on providing an exceptional level of service to a number of clients. Their aim is to be a complete technology partner, from initial consultancy and design phases right through to deployment and ongoing support. They have partnerships with trusted third parties for services such as web design and hosting which they believe are best outsourced to established specialists in those fields.
They have experience of a vast range of markets and technologies and are always seeking to broaden their horizons. Their track record in these key areas has earned them both an impressive reputation and a loyal customer base who respect and trust them.
They are now looking to take on a number of academically strong graduates who have a demonstrable passion for coding. The role would involve working alongside experienced developers on a variety of client projects which typically run for 3-6 months although projects can vary in duration.
You could find yourself working on anything from mobile applications, to network applications or on high-profile websites where you will encounter a wide range of technologies. Recent projects include building a new web portal for the BBC, pioneering a new digital learning platform for the Royal Opera House and the development of a suite of bespoke applications for The Daily and Sunday Telegraph.
On joining the business you will begin your journey in a coding ‘bootcamp ‘ where you will learn and develop skills in writing and reading code and developing mobile applications in full stack Java, .Net and C#. This initial training will last between 1-3 months before moving on to your first project. The training never stops and you will be supported as you move through projects and become familiar with new technologies.
What they are looking for are highly inquisitive people with raw talent and passion for software. They are interested in your potential so you don’t need to be an experienced coder if you can demonstrate your interest in the industry, aptitude for learning and your problem solving skills.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with a 2:1 or higher and a strong academic track record
- Demonstrable interest in coding
- Exceptional problem solving abilities
- Collaborative team player with the ability to work independently
- Ability to work to tight deadlines
Helpful but not essential requirements
- Experience with Full Stack Java, .Net , C# or other coding languages
