"Working twelve hours is a normal day for me."
Intern, London
"I generally work 8.30 am – 6.30 pm but did have one week where hours were longer. People always finish earlier on a Friday and you can request one further early finish on another night each week. There are also regular check-ins to try to check on the sustainability (and hence reasonable hours) of your project."

"I worked very long hours some weeks (coming in before 9.00 am and leaving after 10.00 pm) but largely because I wanted to (I really got into the work, wanted to excel and partly also wanted to experience a long working week). Other people on my case left at 6.00 pm – 7.00 pm most days. I did not work any weekends, it was suggested once or twice that I could work over the weekend on a task but I politely said that it was very unlikely I would get anything done in this way, and my answer was always respected. Almost every week we had a Thursday evening social internship event so I never worked after 7.00 pm on those days. One Friday I left the office at 4.00 pm."

"Long hours, which were often unpredictable. However, a conscious effort was made by the leadership to minimise the impact of these long hours on employees' personal lives."
Intern, London
"My average working day was from 9am to 7pm. Sometimes I worked till 10pm but this was very rare."
Intern, London
"I usually worked 9am - 7pm Monday to Friday but some days were shorter and some were longer. This was purely dependant on the current work load. When a team finished the work they needed to do for that day there was no pressure to sit around doing nothing, you can just go home."
Intern, London
"Working hours varied a lot from case to case but you would typically work later during the week and clocking off at 5/6pm on Friday."
Intern, London
"Being treated like a full time employee meant working like one which can occasionally lead to longer working hours. It never felt like time was being wasted, however."

"I work typically from 8:15am to 7:00pm, and I have had no weekend work or late nights - of course this varies depending the case you are working on."
Intern, London
"My hours vary, typically working from 9:00am to 9:00pm."
Intern, London
"The hours can be long, but there are clearly peaks and troughs. During peaks, home time can be very unpredictable, so Monday to Thursday evening social plans are kept on hold. Most projects allow a 'protected evening off' which does mean you can schedule an evening activity in once a week."
