Our vision for Equality and Inclusion is that every person matters in keeping London moving, working and growing. Public transport plays a key role in opening up opportunities by providing access to education, employment and other essential services. It helps people stay in touch with family and friends, and allows many people to live independently
Transport for London have signed up to the Two Ticks scheme which encourages applications of disabled candidates. The scheme guarantees disabled candidates an interview should they meet the criteria.
We also run a press office internship as part of our diversity initiative. The scheme is targeted at students and recent graduates of African, African-Caribbean, Asian or Chinese origin. These groups are under-represented regionally, and nationally, in PR which is why the scheme was created in 2006. Since the scheme launched, 22 people have benefited from the opportunities it has provided!
