Our MSc in Entrepreneurship will be of particular interest if you are planning a career either in self-employment or in an innovative, entrepreneurial organisation. In this respect, you will be encouraged to learn experientially and to develop the attributes, ways of thinking and behaviour of the entrepreneur.
The programme will be of particular interest to students who are interested in setting up their own businesses, who intend to work in entrepreneurial businesses such as high-growth companies or family businesses, or who desire to work in innovative organisations where creativity and change need to be harnessed to develop commercial business.
In the first semester, you will develop skills related to setting up a new business venture, business modelling, and entrepreneurial theory. These skills can be applied to any future entrepreneurial activities students may consider, either in a new venture or inside an existing organisation (intrapreneurship).
In the second semester, you will have the opportunity to develop more focused specialisation through the choice of optional modules. In conjunction, you will study our Innovation Management module, which focuses on the processes of change that are so essential to both start-ups and established businesses.
Finally, students have the opportunity to develop a dissertation, in the form of a theoretical business plan. Here, they can apply theory to practice by formulating a plan for launching a new venture or developing an existing one, applying the knowledge they have gained over the year. Opportunities are also available to apply research and theory in a standard dissertation.
The programme consists of six compulsory modules, two optional modules and a dissertation.
