We shape a better world

Arup is a global firm of designers, engineers, planners and business consultants providing a range of professional services to clients around the world. With over 12,000 staff in more than 30 countries, we make international team-working part of everyday life. Our people have one core focus: to work together to shape a better world.

Arup brings together professionals from diverse disciplines and with complementary skills on a uniquely global scale. We have a healthy mix of people with very different perspectives and from many cultures, working together, learning from each other and generously sharing knowledge and ideas.

Our people exert a significant influence on the built environment and are the creative force behind many of the world’s most innovative and sustainable designs. Examples of these include: Sydney Opera House, Beijing National Stadium and Water Cube, Millennium Bridge, the Swiss Re Headquarters and the City of Manchester Stadium.

Your Career

Any career is a journey. That journey at Arup is made more varied and rewarding by giving you the opportunity to help make positive change in the world. You will work in a rich culture that is naturally curious and always stimulating. The projects and places your journey takes you to are in your hands. We provide the right clients, questions and tools to take you there.

Work should not be just a means to an end. With the right environment, it can be an endlessly stimulating, surprising and fulfilling endeavour. We set out to create that environment: a place where you can exercise and explore your talent. Of course we respect your work/life balance: only happy people produce great work and happy clients. But we also make huge efforts to build and fuel a stimulating work culture where you can collaborate on challenging issues and projects to create a lasting and positive difference.

Our Graduates attend a week-long Welcome Event to equip them with the technical and soft skills required to get started in a career with Arup. Following that, most training and development will take place on live projects, as you work with real clients from the day you join. This level of responsibility means we seek Graduates that have great communication skills and are curious, passionate, motivated and technically excellent in their chosen discipline.
