I was offered a training contract with Ashfords having participated in a vacation scheme with the firm in 2016. The scheme provided me with the chance to get a broader appreciation for the firm, and needless to say I loved it and was delighted to secure a training contract which I began in 2018.
I am currently in my third seat, with the Trusts and Estates team at Ashfords’ Tiverton office. I am involved with drafting wills, lasting powers of attorney and other trust related documents and have an excellent amount of client contact. My supervisors are very supportive, allowing me to take ownership of my work but also providing thorough feedback and I am learning a lot.
The culture at Ashfords is very collaborative. I feel comfortable to consult any of my peers (not just my supervisors) with any queries I have and I also have the opportunity to support members from across the entire team. This has included visiting the property of a deceased client for insurance purposes and helping with the organisation of a quiz for The Ashfords Foundation.
The people are the cornerstone of what makes Ashfords a great firm to work for. Everyone has a refreshingly down to earth persona, which is conducive to positive and rewarding working relationships. The quality of work is also a key factor, as I am engaging with challenging and engaging tasks.
I am a sociable and enthusiastic individual, which I feel complements the firm’s culture well, and I am excited to complete my training contract with Ashfords.
