Baillie Gifford has several different employee-led networks which aim to help foster a supportive and inclusive culture in the workplace. All the networks are supported by Partners and help to shape and influence different policies at Baillie Gifford. Diversity and Inclusion, Mental Health and Wellbeing, Supporting Trans Employees and Shared Parental Leave are a few examples of policies that aim to help enable and include all employees here at Baillie Gifford.
Since its launch in March 2017, the LGBT Network has been focused on raising awareness of LGBT inclusion. From attending Pride to organising speaker sessions, they continue to encourage conversation and engagement. The network also offers guidance to staff and ensures policies and procedures are LGBT inclusive.
The Mental Health Group
In the summer of 2017, the firm?s Mental Health Group was formed. It aims to stimulate awareness of mental health by promoting a workplace that supports the mental wellbeing of all staff. The Group has established a Mental Health Supporters programme, made up of over 45 individuals from across the business, who have undergone training to help them support their colleagues in need of someone to talk to.
Our Wellbeing Group, established in 2018, works hard to ensure that there is a broad range of activities and initiatives on offer for staff, which aim to contribute towards positive well-being. From free fruit and twice weekly yoga and tai chi classes in our office, to a Baillie Gifford choir and running club, the wellbeing offerings take many forms.
The Multicultural Network
The Multicultural Network was set up in 2019 with the mission to celebrate, promote and support cultural diversity within Baillie Gifford. By planning events that celebrate our multicultural community such as international food week, the group hopes to educate and engage staff on cultural diversity.
