"I’ve also had the opportunity to get involved in projects and networks across Barclays."
As much as I don’t want to admit it to myself, I’m already nearing the end of my first six-month rotation in the Barclays UK Graduate Scheme. As Commercial Delivery Manager in New Customer Acquisition, UK Cards, I deliver changes in, and releases of, current and new products to our direct channels (our own websites). This involves engaging with stakeholders across New Customer Acquisition to ensure any product or channel changes align with release dates, and collating details of changes from product and channel owners. I also make sure the wider team is updated on delivery timelines. In this role, I’ve been able to develop detailed product and channel knowledge and engaging with a wide range of stakeholders.
I’ve also had the opportunity to get involved in projects and networks across Barclays. Like volunteering for the Barclaycard Accessibility Network, running workshops for young adults as part of the Prince’s Trust, and taking part in the 2017 Million Makers Challenge. My graduate colleagues and I also recently took part in the High Growth & Entrepreneurs Challenge, presenting to senior leaders in the Business Bank. We’re fortunate enough to still be working with them on our ideas, tackling the question of how we can get involved in the university spinout ecosystem.
I’ve greatly enjoyed my first six months in Barclaycard, and will miss my current role and great colleagues. But I’m super excited for what’s ahead!
