About Bayer

Bayer UK/Ireland employs over 1000 people across our three main operating companies - Bayer Plc, Bayer CropScience Ltd and Bayer Ltd in Ireland.

Bayer has been trading in the UK/Ireland region since 1871. Early business was handled through the offices of engineering company JM Steel, then through Bayer's own operations, based in Manchester, then Surrey and Newbury and now Reading, Berkshire.

Bayer UK/Ireland is essentially a sales and marketing function, as there is no production in this region.

Green Park, Reading

The Life Science business is in Reading; Consumer Health, Pharmaceuticals and Animal Health. We also have Country Platform (or service organisation), this consists of Legal, HR, Finance, IT, Communications and all the things essential to running a good business. Our Baylab is also based in Reading, this is a free laboratory for schools to use.

Our brand new Green Park offices recently won an award for the Best Fit Out category from British Council for Offices.

Dublin is the home of Bayer Ltd with both CropScience and Life Sciences based here. The sales and scope of the size of the UK and Irish businesses is proportionate to the populations; 90% of sales are in the UK and 10% are in Ireland.

Dublin do exactly what we do in the UK but on a smaller scale, selling the same products with the same structures - just less of them. There are about 100 employees in Ireland who serve the Irish market.

Bayer CropScience is based in Cambridge, the agricultural hub of the UK.
