"My base hours are 9.00 am to 5.00 pm but my manager is very flexible with this, especially because I'm studying for a professional qualification."
Finance, Graduate, Edinburgh
"I start very early and am in the office by 7.30 am. But I very rarely finish later than 6.00 pm. If I am on top of my work I will leave around 5.30 pm. BlackRock is very flexible with hours and you can take your lunch whenever you want and always leave your desk to take a phone call, go for a walk, have a snack etc during the day. I was also allowed a day off in my first week with no problem."
Graduate, London
"I work from 8.30 am to 8.00 pm on average, usually with a lunch break but not always. Overall, I think it's reasonable and my manager has never complained. The company adopts a flexible time-off policy but it's not common in my office. You can still work from home if you need to, but more as an exception than a regular practice."
Graduate, Milan
"I get in at 7.30 am and leave around 6.00 pm. These hours are relatively flexible but my role will always be dictated by market hours. However, the occasional (even significant) deviations from these are totally fine. A number of people also work from home. Nearly half of my team works from home every Thursday."
Graduate, London
"The hours are very long, 11-hour days are not uncommon. There are flexible hours, which means you can come in an hour late or leave an hour early once a week."
Graduate, Edinburgh
"BlackRock (at least my team) is very flexible on hours. The focus is on completing your work rather than giving face time."

"The standard hours in my department are 7.00 am to 6.00 pm or 8.00 am to 7.00 pm. However, you are expected to stay late sometimes and work some Saturdays."
Graduate, London
"The hours are very flexible and easy going. We do work long hours in comparison to other sectors but BlackRock is one of the best companies in terms of flexibility and working hours for the finance industry."
Graduate, London
"I work from about 8.30 am to 5.00 pm but more during month-end and busier periods. The work/life balance varies between teams but is good for me. My department has not been flexible with hours. I have asked to work from 8.00 am to 4.40 pm in order to get the earlier train but this was refused."
Finance, Graduate, Edinburgh
"I work about ten hours per day (nine on a Friday). I think it is quite reasonable for the industry and managers are good about being flexible when it comes to appointments and needing to work from home for some reason."
Entry level, London
"My employer trusts me in doing my job and does not hold me to a set timeframe. However, there were times when I had to stay longer to finish the work assigned. Time management is crucial in this job."
Graduate, London
"My employer is very flexible on my working hours so long as I am delivering on time and getting my work done."
Technology, Graduate, London
"The company is very flexible so long as you do your work well and show that you're proactive with asking for more work."
Graduate, London
"The company is pretty flexible with letting you leave early for appointments or trains and we have an unlimited holiday policy so we can take off all the time we need to work hard."
Graduate, London
