"I am assigned pretty complex work, it's nice to be challenged."
Finance, Graduate, Edinburgh
"Day to day I report directly to my manager and generally work to make her life easier, which in turn is very educational as I work on smaller-scale versions of the work she is doing every day. My work is generally research based rather than task based, which can be overwhelming. For example, I was tasked with thinking of new ideas for the fund and then looked deeper into the ones my manager thought were interesting. I write up minutes after meetings as well as making time to focus on my own learning and development."
Graduate, London
"I am in a client-facing role and am involved in the conversation my team has with the client. I work on specific requests, PowerPoint updates and event attendance. When there are no ongoing conversations, I spend time on administrative/reporting files. Sometimes I would like to be more involved in more senior conversations, but it will take some time I guess."
Graduate, Milan
"As a new joiner, you are immediately given work that has a real and tangible impact for your clients, which is exciting. The responsibility that comes with this requires you to take ownership of everything you do and, as such, you are given credit where it is due but must also take criticism when required. Both of these help you to learn and grow quickly. My role varies day to day from actioning trades to undertaking research projects and hearing about others."
Graduate, London
"It's early on in my role as a graduate. I feel like I am doing a lot of admin and chasing up other colleagues to do work."
Marketing, Graduate, London
"I really enjoy my day-to-day work. I work on providing information to clients and I enjoy being able to foster relationships while understanding products."

"The type of projects you work on can vary greatly but I felt that I was given big responsibilities from day one."
Graduate, Milan
"You are made an important part of the team from day one and are given work that makes a difference."
Graduate, London
"It is very varied. I do a lot of technical analysis on fund performance and exposure/attribution and I write market and fund commentaries, which I find very interesting."
Graduate, London
"I look at stocks and pitch investment ideas to managers as part of my day-to-day role."
Graduate, London
"Overall I get a lot of responsibility and have the chance to talk to and learn from very smart people. You are really treated as part of the team and not just an analyst."
Graduate, London
"At my current level I'm still getting to grips with understanding the inner workings of the funds we sell to clients. This means that my role is currently to learn about various funds and then answer a few low-level client queries. In the next few weeks I'll be getting my own client book and will be expected to continue developing the relationship with these clients."
Graduate, London
"My day-to-day role depends completely on the project at hand. There are some daily tasks that always need to be done but, outside of these, it depends completely on the portfolio at hand."
Graduate, London
