Having studied for an LLM in Intellectual Property Law, I knew that I wanted to apply to a firm with an excellent reputation in this department. The high quality of work on offer and collaborative environment made Bristows an obvious choice.
The training contract at Bristows offers the opportunity to get involved in a wide range of client matters with extensive support from your supervisors and peers. The friendly culture prevails and people are always happy to take the time to discuss any questions you might have.
In addition to the hands-on training provided, trainees have the opportunity to attend frequent seminars and training events covering a wide range of technical and commercial topics (almost always accompanied by a free lunch..!). The possibility of an in-house secondment with one of Bristows’ clients also provides the opportunity for trainees to gain an invaluable insight into how these businesses operate.
Being part of a small and trainee intake means that we have become close friends and everyone tries their best to help each other out. Plus Bristows organises numerous social events and CSR initiatives so that you’re able to get to know your colleagues from across the firm even before your first day.
The combination of high quality work and a supportive culture has really shone through during my training contract and shows that my reasons for applying for a training contract at Bristows really do represent the realities of life at the firm.
