Different people bring different ideas, skills and perspectives. And, we’re better equipped to put members first if we have a diverse workforce of talented people, representative of the communities we live and work in.
We want everyone who works at Coventry Building Society to feel engaged, valued and respected. We’re proud of our commitment to diversity and we know it’s important to be upfront and share our strategy to ensure it translates fully into our everyday lives and really makes a difference.
Whether you have recently joined the Society or are one of our long-serving employees, we have so many things in place that encourage and support being a diverse and inclusive environment.
Our equality, diversity and inclusion programme is called 'Together' and we’re constantly innovating our approach to enable us to support our diverse workforce.
Our ideas are formulated by a variety of working groups, made up of employees from across the Society, regularly meeting to discuss topics and come up with plans, these working group are sponsored by members of our Executive team. We encourage everyone to get involved in a way that suits them, whether it’s through our ‘working families’ network, raising awareness during our focus weeks such as LGBT or mental health, or simply talking to their team about flexible working.
We’ve already achieved so much, including signing up to the Time to Change pledge, which pledges to end the stigmas that can be associated with mental health illness, introducing flexible working and setting up our employee forum ‘My Society’ who share their views and feedback on a wide range of new initiatives and proposed plans to ensure they’re inclusive for all.
