Satisfaction with Work

7.1 / 10

(based on 23 ratings in 2017)

"I have a mixture of interesting and less interesting tasks. Quite a lot of my work has been process-reviewing and re-writing, which has been dull. However, provided I use my own initiative, I can sometimes get myself onto work that I find more enjoyable. I do tend to have to sort this out myself though."
Graduate, Crick
"My assigned work tends to become monotonous at times. Regardless, the better someone performs the more diverse responsibilities they get given. Typical assignments include: operations control, workforce allocation, budget management, compliance management, continuous improvement activities and people engagement."
Graduate, Rugby
"I get good, challenging and meaningful work with expected timelines and support throughout when required."
Graduate, Rugby
"I'm a front line manager in a large clothing depot. I've worked in all of the operational management roles over the past ten months but currently I'm an inbound manager. My duties can vary from leading a team to completing projects to continuous improvement."
Graduate, Worcester
"My responsibilities vary from attending standard daily meetings to senior-level reporting."
Graduate, North West
"My first placement was primarily based around being an admin assistant, which gave me little real experience of the business. My current placement is more hands-on. However, I'm still yet to get exposure to the global network or managerial roles."
Graduate, London
"My day-to-day role includes running a department within the warehouse and managing a team of people. I have to oversee things such as absences, holidays and disciplinaries etc."
Graduate, Daventry
"Overall I'm satisfied. I've managed projects from inception to completion with a focus on processes and areas that could generate significant cost savings for the customer or significant efficiency improvements. Management have supported me in different areas of the operation when required."
Graduate, Stoke-on-Trent
"I work largely on my own with plenty of support on hand should I need it. From day one I was given the freedom to manage my own workload and get involved in projects that interested me. I quickly became a subject matter expert in my own right and my line manager actively encouraged me to get out to the business and present my work for myself rather than using him as a conduit. I am the regional coordinator for the whole of our UK & Ireland business, giving me exposure to the global team as well as allowing me to interface with many of the executive board."
Graduate, Daventry
"The quality of work was a bit slow and not very challenging to begin with. Now that I have settled into the site, I have been given increasingly challenging roles and a lot of responsibility. I started working on a damages reduction project and am now focused on training and process management activities around the implementation of a new contract onto the site."
Graduate, Staffordshire

"The tasks are highly varied, so I don't get bored with my job and I have learned many things. However, some of the tasks I'm given can seem too simple."
Graduate, Northampton
"I've worked on project management in a variety of departments within my site."
Supply Chain, Graduate, Stoke on Trent
"Overall I am very satisfied with the work that I do. I regularly work on different project implementations, reviewing processes, working with data, supporting project management and giving operational support. Work is varied and interesting."
Supply Chain, Graduate, Staffordshire
"I'm currently working in support of a major global manufacturing supply chain contract. My job is to improve the current state of the contract by reconciling large data and developing internal reports. I'm very satisfied and thoroughly challenged."
Graduate, Derby
"I plan vehicle routes, arrange loads, liaise with customers and create invoice backups."
Graduate, Daventry
"My team always pushes me by assigning me many tasks that stretch me and push me outside of my comfort zone. I feel put to good use and of value."
Graduate, London
"My role can vary day to day. Being on the graduate scheme you are expected to see all the different sides of the business and this can result in management wanting you in many different areas. Some projects you work on are vital to the success of a contract and others can be mundane."
Retail, Graduate, Bedford
"When the work is there, it's interesting, challenging and engaging. However, it goes through peaks and troughs. I don't feel the company always utilises my skills in the best ways and I feel like I could progress better if I was given more appropriate tasks."
Graduate, Coventry

"My job is to prepare reports for my line manager, reporting how the field sales team are getting on, what they have been doing and how successful they have been."

"I work within a project environment which involves matrix-managing people and using influencing skills to get desired outcomes. There are elements of customer and supplier management and a lot of technical IT skills I have picked up on the job. I am responsible for planning workload for team members, tracking progress, communicating with stakeholders and dealing with and resolving issues as they arise."
Graduate, Rugby
"I am responsible for a team of 14 operatives and managing all warehouse operations within the national distribution centre."
Experienced, Midlands
"Throughout my time here I have been given a range of responsibilities and worked on a number of projects that have provided tangible results. My varied role has allowed me to work with different colleagues, both operatives and managers, to build on my skills and provide a good foundation for my career."
