I graduated from the University of Exeter with a degree in Business and Management and was keen to pursue a career in the tourism industry, as I’ve always had a passion for travel. Within weeks at Eurostar, I was sure it was the right place for me.
The General Manager Graduate Programme comprises of four placements over two years in a variety of departments (and countries!), allowing us to develop a range of skills and have a true understanding for what Eurostar has to offer. We are given the opportunity to work alongside some of the most talented senior managers which is very inspiring. My last placement was in the Operations department, with the Planning and Performance team. It’s a complex and technical role based in Lille, Eurostar’s nerve centre. Understanding the operational challenges we face and working on projects to mitigate these has been fascinating.
The Eurostar community is extremely friendly and approachable which creates a great work environment. Personal development is a huge thing here at Eurostar and the training offered as part of the Graduate Programme is excellent. On top of that, we can always rely on each other, as graduates, for support if needed, which is really helpful.
