How did you hear about G2V and why did you choose us?
After coming out of University I was looking to get into a business related role, but I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do. I saw an advert for G2V Group and the earning potential along with the opportunity for progression that G2V offered really caught my eye.
What does your role involve and what are your main responsibilities?
I now work as Business Development Consultant for the Benelux markets which mainly consists of managing current client relationships as well as creating new ones. This includes travelling to meet with clients in Belgium and the Netherlands and presenting our business to them.
What training have you received?
From the get go, G2V Group gives you extensive training! Friends I have at other recruitment organisations have admitted that we have strong a reputation for providing the best training in the industry. You’re given a crash course of recruitment during your first couple of weeks but the real learning starts when you start speaking to clients and candidates. Throughout the process the Learning and Development team will continue to improve you by giving you pointers and what you can do better. but also more importantly what you're doing well.
What is the highlight of the work you have done so far?
Created key relationships with a number of large clients in Belgium and the Netherlands who now use us as a sole supplier.
What do you enjoy about your job?
I enjoying creating relationships with clients, going out and meeting them and the fact that I have a say in how much money I make.
What challenges the graduate has faced? and what support has been provided?
The first few months were difficult, it took me around 3 months to my first placement. My manager thoroughly supported me during this and kept mentoring me by teaching me how to improve the quality of my relationships and phone calls and when I ended up doing my first placement I did my second on the same day!
Why do you like working for us?
I like working at G2V Group because of the opportunity it gives you to progress your career, the opportunity it gives you to make good money but also, the people in the business and the support they give. When I hit my first target was taken on a company lunch to a Michelin Star restaurant which was brilliant. The social side of working here is something I enjoy particularly as well – Socials at the races, Christmas Parties and Old Trafford and Edgbaston!
