Satisfaction with Work

8.9 / 10

(based on 8 ratings in 2018)

"I am performing tasks that result in data being sent out to various people in the organisation, including very senior members of the team. I am interacting with different members of the organisation every day to fulfil data downloads and files that they require. I am able to make decisions and take the internship where I want to in order to get the most out of it."

"My work during the placement split my time between ordinary day-to-day tasks and project work. I found the obtaining and presenting data part of my job interesting and enjoyed learning new programs including structured query language. My favorite part of the experience was the project work, though. Being given total control of multiple projects through the year really allows you to see the impact that you can have."
Distribution, Placement Student, Leeds
"I'm fairly satisfied. I enjoy the more hands-on duties including the chance to lead my own projects and own one of the brands. What was less enjoyable was the paperwork side of things."
Placement Student, Maidenhead
"The quality of work grew continually and I was given more responsibility as I became more confident in my role."

"The day-to-day jobs vary depending on the area you work in, such as marketing or brands. A lot of the jobs are given by your manager with support if required. However, a lot of trust is given to you and you are free to request more work or say if you're feeling snowed under. The day-to-day roles tended to include purchase orders and monitoring brands, some were quite data heavy while others involved research and creative thinking."
Marketing, Placement Student, Dublin, Ireland
"I've been able to join in on large projects and was given my own small projects to run. I work with the lab occasionally and do data analysis. I don't spend all day sat at a desk!"

"I am a Contracts and Pricing Specialist. Working in the Pricing Team I take control of all pricing matters in the central region, from setting up pricing schedules to customer price queries. This is alongside my work in the Bid Team, where I help with all tender activities and generating quotes for customers."

Laboratory work consists of running wear tests on a hip simulator on hip liners and heads, running a pin on a plate wear simulation machine and working on various measurement machines and robots."

"I have been given a lot of responsibility and get given as much work to do as I am capable of. The job is what you want from it - you can do just the job allocated, or you can ask for more and take on more roles and responsibilities."

"I work across all business units in DePuy Synthes EMEA and am currently working on approximately ten different projects. Working closely with different teams including marketing, HCP liaison and country level health outcomes teams is a key part of my role as well as working with external agencies. My varying tasks include literature searching, clinical paper summaries, project support and leading my own projects."

"Working in such a fast-paced department that is always changing means there is never a dull moment and each day is different. My role is both admin and project based. For my administrative work, I support HR managers across three business units; IT, finance and business intelligence. There were days and training sessions for managers/employees on how to use our new HR system."

I also have several large projects to take on over the year that will help me to learn more, improve my skills and take on responsibility."
Intern, Leeds
"My typical work days involves arranging calls with or emailing our different agencies concerning current activities and keeping them updated, booking advertorial space, raising and dealing with purchase orders, monitoring the brand’s budgets, meeting with my manager to discuss brand strategy, responding to requests for samples, creating content for Twitter and contributing to ways to improve the website."

"My role has a few core responsibilities including the management of the copy approval process, purchasing, conferences, cycle meetings, iConnect and account manager requests. However, what I really love about my role is being given the opportunity to lead on projects including Velcade MCL internal communications launch, blood cancer awareness month, Zytiga PI updates and the BOPA 2014 stand build."
