Satisfaction with Work

8.3 / 10

(based on 6 ratings in 2018)

"My role varies from doing small admin tasks to working on specific projects. I am very satisfied with the work I get to do as I get the opportunity to do well."
Mid level, Whiteley
"I have had a mixed experience. One of my placements saw me completing work not remotely related to my degree or job role. In another, I have had the opportunity to work on interesting and inspiring work packages."
Graduate, Bedford
"The work varies from day to day. As a systems engineer I look at requirements analysis, interact with customers and suppliers and carry out document reviews."
Graduate, Havant
"My day-to-day job has a real impact on the programme. From writing acceptance cases to sell-off requirements to investigating and analysing issues, each task has meaning. My work varies from day to day, which means I get to try new things all the time and work in an environment where I am able to challenge myself."
Graduate, Ampthill
"I was very satisfied with the initial work I was given when I started as it revolved around design and test. However, I have spent much more of my recent time writing documentation as design work is more thin on the ground."
Graduate, Ampthill

"I'm very satisfied overall. I've been involved in a variety of work that has given me the opportunity to establish a greater overview of the company."
Graduate, Gloucester
"My day-to-day role is quite challenging in both a technical and programme context. I'm responsible for a number of systems that require regular communication with a number of suppliers and internal stakeholders."
Graduate, Ampthill - Bedfordshire
"The role varies on a day-to-day basis, am involved in top-level projects but also do daily reporting etc."
Graduate, Whiteley
"I write test procedures for testing large, complex systems. I am very satisfied with this as my work has a large impact on the programme I am working in."
Graduate, Ampthill
"There's good work for gaining experience and progressing through the learning curve. However, the work can be uninteresting at times. There will be times where you need to produce work for the 'process' rather than the more exciting parts of the programme."
Graduate, Havant
"In the very early days, there is a lot of learning and getting to grips with projects and the company. But if you make connections with people, are driven and become known as someone who is keen to progress, you can very quickly find yourself getting given exciting opportunities that take you to places around the UK, Europe and America and allow you to work on exciting projects. In my first year at Lockheed I've often found myself out at air bases or naval yards working on current projects, up in London meeting people, out in America at conferences or supporting at air shows, STEM events or career days. I also feel there is a good balance between work that is challenging and work that is within my capabilities."
Graduate, Havant, UK
