Training

6.0 / 10

(based on 7 ratings in 2019)

2019

"Training is definitely available for those who want it."
Entry level, Ampthill, Bedford, Bedfordshire
"More of my technical and key skill development has come from working with experienced senior engineers than formal training."
Graduate, Bedford
"Graduate scheme training events could be more interactive but they do provide some key skills such as time management, personal and personality skills and presentation skills. For engineering graduates, there could be more of a push to become a qualified/professional engineer as part of charterships. Most training occurs while on the job and you are given some space to explore new ways of doing things that can then be fed back into the team."
Graduate, Havant
"Training on soft skills is extensive, but we could do with more hard-skill training."
Graduate, Portsmouth
"The structured training is very generic. Good-quality training can be funded but has to be requested and justified by the individual."
Graduate, Ampthill
"The training budget and opportunities are often few and far between with most of the training done on the job, in my experience. There are lists and a budget available but often a business case and budget must be provided. You really have to push for specific training if you want it."
Graduate, Havant

2018

"There's not much in the way of internal training. The graduate scheme does include days off site for team building with other graduates and I am scheduled to go on a three-day training course (paid), which will advance my career and give an additional boost to my CV and accreditation for chartership."
Graduate, Ampthill
"There are plenty of training opportunities for graduates, take advantage of them."
Graduate, Bedford
"There are a number of training programmes available. You do have to apply for them and it's based on business need."
Graduate, Havant
"The MATLAB training course was required and undertaken internally. There is also additional training associated with the graduate scheme."
Graduate, Ampthill
"You do training courses every six months as a minimum on the graduate scheme, with the option to do many more."
Graduate, Ampthill

2017

"Lockheed provides training courses that you can apply for (applications are generally approved with no issue) along with online training courses, an online library and access to plenty of resources. The graduate scheme also provides graduate related training at various sites around the UK. The training is available if you want to use it but you have to be proactive in finding and applying for most of the training."
Graduate, Havant, UK
"The training scheme is amazing for graduates. LM is always willing to invest in us and improve our skill set."
Graduate, Ampthill - Bedfordshire
"I've been on training to improve my personal skills and learn how to use Excel."
Graduate, Whiteley
"Graduates are involved in training throughout the two-year graduate scheme."
Graduate, Ampthill
"Training programmes are on an opportunistic basis. I've been trained on a systems engineering boot camp for an entire week and attended a variety of other training events."
Graduate, Havant
"I've been sent to a number of training courses that ranged from systems engineering and network integration to personality workshops. There is a wide range of courses available but employees must make a valid business case to go on them."
Graduate, Ampthill
