"I studied Chemical Engineering at university because I like to solve problems, and working in the financial sector allows me to focus on problems with a global impact, which is really exciting.
My LSEG journey began with the Internship Programme, which was my introduction to working in a professional firm. My role was at LCH, where I was given the chance to work on reports and presentations that went to senior management. This showed me just how much of a difference interns can make at LSEG.
My first rotation on the Graduate Programme was also at LCH, where I gained valuable experience in areas such as data analytics, creating dashboards for senior management, which they are still using today.
My current rotation is at FTSE Russell working in the sales team – I make sure that our clients get the best possible experience. It’s very different from my first rotation, which is exactly why I think the Graduate Programme is so great – there’s huge variety across the roles on offer and the exposure you gain as a result. Sometimes when you’re working behind the scenes, as I was in my previous role, you don’t get the chance to see the final product, so spending time in the sales team has been really beneficial for me.
The best thing about working at LSEG has to be the people. I have a diverse set of colleagues with a wide range of skills to learn from. There are always opportunities for collaboration – no matter what task you’re given – and we all want to produce our best work. I feel like everyone has taken the time to get to know me on a personal level too – it’s a very supportive, caring environment.”
