Philips’ stood out for me on as a company with a great history and respected brand values. I’m also interested in working globally in the future and Philips is a company that can facilitate that.

The application process involved online tests and a skype interview before the assessment centre. Compared to other assessment centres, it was run the right way with a far more relaxed atmosphere, rather than somewhere that applies unnecessary pressure, so this gave me a good insight into Philips culture.

While others graduate schemes within Philips were split into different rotations mine focused on marketing which aligned with where I wanted to focus. My time in marketing was based within SRC (Sleep & Respiratory Care) function of Philips, within this role I got exposure to projects both on the B2C and B2B sides. Within this role, I was also able to visit other Philips markets which was a valuable experience.

Since then, I have moved into my role in marketing within UK Personal Health (B2C) business. My new role Performance Marketing Executives within the search team and my responsibilities revolved around Amazon and Argos advertising platforms.

 The work environment at Philips is flexible giving you the option to work in a way that works best for you. This includes hot desks, working from home and flexible hours. The people and culture really make a difference at Philips and I only have good things to say about the various people I have worked alongside over the last two years.

In terms of training on the scheme itself there are various workshops organised by HR over the two years which help you develop your skills, these are invaluable and really support your development over the two years while in your role. I would recommend this scheme to anyone thinking of applying, it’s done wonders for my career and I hope to continue to develop within Philips over the coming years.
