ScotGrad offers rolling recruitment throughout the year to paid project-based graduate fixed-term jobs (6-12 months) and summer student placements (8-12 weeks) in small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs), social enterprises, and charities across Scotland. We recruit to vacancies in all sectors exclusively in Scotland.
Our aim is to help graduates to secure their first piece of graduate-level work experience, whilst supporting Scottish companies to recruit the talented individuals they need to thrive and grow.
Working for an SME has many benefits including the chance to make a genuine impact and see the outcomes of your work, immediate responsibility for your own project, insight into all business functions, and direct access to senior managers and wider networks. You’ll also develop graduate attributes and build transferable skills you can take into your next role. It is a perfect opportunity to learn how a business, social enterprise, or charity operates.
94% of ScotGrads successfully progress into graduate level work or education after completing their placement, with around half of ScotGrads securing a permanent position at their company each year.
Students take part in the Highlands and Islands Student Placement Programme, which includes a free two-day residential training course to enhance business skills. Languages placements are also available, primarily in Gaelic and European languages.
ScotGrad is delivered in partnership by Scottish Enterprise, Highlands and Islands Enterprise, and AGCAS. Our wider partners include the Scottish Government and Skills Development Scotland, also supported by the European Regional Development Fund in the Highlands and Islands.
