MBDA UK Ltd
About Us
We design, produce and maintain the missile systems that help to protect our skies, land and seas, ensuring that our armed forces hold the advantage in any situation.
We are a multi-national group with more than 11,500 employees working together across France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom. We also have offices set up in the USA. This creates fantastic opportunities for travel and possibly a placement abroad.
All of our employees play a part in delivering a more secure tomorrow, whether this is designing a future concept for the British Army, managing the procurement of a missile component or using software expertise to integrate one of our products on to the newest fighter yet.
As a complex organisation, we have a wide range of roles which require a variety of people with different talents. We believe diversity is key to our business so employees can come together to achieve MBDAs goals.
Current Recruitment Processes
MBDA are still recruiting as normal, the only change to our recruitment process is the assessment centres will now be run virtually.
The first stage of our recruitment process is an online application. You will be required to complete some details about yourself, education and employment in addition to answering a few role specific questions. You will not be required to upload a CV.
If you are eligible, you will be sent our online assessments. For graduates, undergraduates and summer placements this will be diagrammatical, numerical and verbal reasoning. For apprentices, this will be strength based.
If successful, your application will go through our internal review process. The hiring manager will review your suitability for the role using your initial application and your online assessment results.
If successful, you may be invited to attend one of our assessment centres. This will be run virtually and will consist of a variety of strength-based activities.
Regardless of the outcome from the assessment centre, you will receive a telephone call to inform you of the decision and receive feedback or next steps.
Application Opening Date
Graduate applications open in September (open now) and apprenticeships open in October.
Application Closing Date
We encourage students to apply early as we will close applications before the deadlines if we fill the roles. We do have estimated closing dates, which are November for graduates roles and December for apprenticeships. However, some roles may stay open past this date if we are unable to fill these.

Speaking to graduates and recruiters in such a relaxing environment was such an insightful opportunity- so many of my questions were answered, even those I didn't know I had.

Good combination of chances to network/ask questions and hear from companies directly.

We have attended the Future Female Engineering event for a number of years now; it is a great opportunity for employers to meet with interested and motivated female engineering students. Throughout the event students have the opportunity to get to know their preferred employers, hear what is like to be a graduate in the company and also gain helpful hints and tips on the application process. The event is a great opportunity for students and employers to network across a number of informal and fun sessions!

It has made me realise that engineering is quite an open sector and that there is a lot of scope to enter a lot of areas.

A thoroughly enjoyable event, with very intelligent and driven students. The students are from a mixture of years so proved great for our current and future pipeline, and company branding. You also walk away with the details of circa 100 top quality students, so a very unique event.
AECOM
It was delightful to see so many high calibre female engineering students who had made the effort to research our company and prepare questions for the networking session. The event was very well organised, informative and fun. This is our third year attending the event and we look forward to getting involved again next year.
National Grid
Everything was great, the overall vibe puts you in a good mood and even if you come in scared and unsure about what to do, that quickly goes away.
