Boost your CV. Attending IT’s not just for the boys! will not only allow you to speak directly to recruiters who will tell you exactly what a successful CV looks like; the event itself is a fantastic addition to your CV. It shows you have a keen interest in technology and that you are actively seeking personal development. The event will also be another way of showcasing your interpersonal skills.

There’s also a practical team challenge to break the ice and develop your team-working and time-management skills that you’ll need at future assessment centres.
Find your pathway into technology and talk to inspirational women. You will hear from senior women in tech, graduates/interns and other students like you with a passion for technology.

What can I expect?
IT’s not just for the boys! is primarily an employability networking event, but you won’t find employers at stands handing out leaflets and reeling off the usual spiel. Instead you’ll be invited to have real conversations with representatives from top organisations, whether they are on the recruitment team, graduate schemes or board of directors and take part in unique interactive session all aimed to help you achieve your dream career!
Is this a fast track to graduate schemes and internships?
Yes and no. Remember this event is primarily an employability networking event, you will get first hand advice from recruiters on what roles they offer, the application process, and gain useful hints and tips of information that is not online in this unique experience. It will then be your responsibility however to follow up on the contacts you speak to and put all the advice you have learnt to complete the applications. In the past it has been known for previous applicants to be fast tracked through an application process, so make sure you update your CV mention that you attended IT’s not just for the boys!
What will I be doing on the day?
We'll group you with other attendees (usually a maximum of 8 per group) to work on team challenges (a great opportunity to showcase team work, decision making and communication skills), facilitate skills sessions with recruiters who’ll offer the inside scoop on application tips, assessment centres and how to create your personal brand so you stand out from the crowd.
Is there a charge for the event?
No, the event is completely free to attend!
