Applications and CVs: impressing from the get-go
Find out how you can convince top employers to give you an interview. We’ll look at the essential dos and don’ts of a CV, from whether to include a personal statement to how you might best use the interests section of your CV to capture the hearts and minds of recruiters.
Interviews and assessment centres: proving your potential and getting your personality across
Learn how to approach recruiters’ interview questions with confidence. We’ve invited employers to tell us what they’re looking for in the ideal candidate and what they expect to be the best preparation for interviews. Tune into this session to find out what does – and does not – impress in an interviewee.
Skills and qualities: showing employers that you’re career-ready
Skills, qualities and attitudes can make the difference between coming across as a purely academically competent graduate and one who will hit the ground running in a job. Discover which skills and qualities employers love to see, and how best to show that you have them.
Internships and work experience: discovering your career
First-hand insight into a career sector and employer is the most effective way to discover whether you’re suited to it. It also allows you to impress potential future employers and build your network. Discover what opportunities top employers provide, along with their advice on how to benefit most from work experience.
Your post-graduation job hunt: hitting the ground running or changing track
Starting your graduate job hunt during a pandemic and a recession is never going to be easy. We ask employers what steps you can take to make the stressful process of job hunting easier and how you can build your confidence while job seeking.
What else do you need to know
Do I need to download anything?
You do not need to download anything in advance of the fair but please make sure you log in using Chrome. If you would like to have the opportunity to talk to any of the employers one-to-one, you must allow access to your camera and microphone. If you find that cannot access your camera and microphone, please make sure you have given permission to your browser by clicking the lock icon at the top left-hand side of the URL, then “Allow”. Ensure “Cookies” are allowed, too.
Who will I be able to speak to?
There will be members from the graduate recruitment teams of all exhibitors and some may even have recent grads or senior members of staff who you’ll be able to put your questions to!
Do I need to make an appointment to speak to any of the employers?
If you would like a video chat with an employer, you can request a meeting through their employer booth. There will be times to choose from and you’ll receive a notification when your request has been accepted. Make sure your profile is complete – this will boost the chances of your request being accepted!
Can I access the fair on my phone?
You can, but for the best experience we recommend logging in on your desktop or laptop using a Chrome browser.
Do I need to attend all day?
You don’t need to be at the fair all day (although you can if you want to!). You can log in and out throughout the day. Just give yourself enough time to talk to as many exhibitors as you can and don’t forget about the LIVE presentations!
Who should I speak to if I have a problem or a question about the fair?
If you are at the fair please find the Help and Information booth and send the team a message or email us at email@example.com.
