The Airbus Engineering Flight Physics Graduate Scheme is well established and widely recognised as preparing the engineers of the future, equipping them with the wide variety of skills and experience needed to maintain Airbus as one of the leading commercial aerospace companies in the world. The scheme lasts for 2 years and 4 months and incorporates a Post Graduate Diploma in Engineering Competence, fast-tracking the Graduates towards Chartership (C.Eng).
During the scheme there will be placements in various departments to build on core skills, develop project management and leadership skills, transnational working and a potential placement with a customer. There is also additional tool and soft skill training, and opportunities to work on STEM projects aimed at inspiring the engineers of the future.
Flight Physics is responsible for overall aircraft design activities that are used for the detailed design of the aircraft components across all the stages of aircraft development, from pre-design work to in-service support. The majority of Flight Physics activities are focused on aircraft programmes such as the A350XWB, A320neo and future aircraft research programmes, but there is also significant effort on R&T and capability/tool development, as a result work type is varied and interesting.
Within Flight Physics in the UK there are four departments: Aerodynamics, Loads & Aeroelastics, Mass Properties and Flight Physics Capability.
Main activities of the role may include:
Graduates make a significant contribution to Flight Physics. You are given responsibility in your placements and do valuable work within each team, experiencing a wide range of technical topics. You get to experience the different Flight Physics departments as well as placements in other areas whilst on the scheme, possibly including time with a supplier or airline.
Studying or Studied a degree in Physics, Aeronautical, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar technical subject (2:1 or higher)

This role will be based in Filton and will receive the full Airbus Graduate programme benefit package including an annual Salary of £27,000, plus a welcome payment of £2,000.
