Our UK Graduate Programme provides exceptional graduates the opportunity to master managerial and technical skills. From day one, you will be assigned to a particular department and will be guided through the various placement opportunities that exist within your function, the wider business and even with customers and suppliers. This, along with training provided works to ensure you are ready and experienced enough to take the next step of your career following the programme's conclusion.

The Communications Products Group is involved in the design and development of Digital Processors for highly innovative telecommunications satellites. In particular, the group specialises in digital designs for FPGA and ASIC solutions which implement DSP algorithms alongside high speed interfaces. Flight hardware for these innovative solutions is developed by a team consisting of experienced engineers working alongside graduates at the beginning of their career.The Communications Products Group is also responsible for research and development of new digital processor products, manufacture and testing of flight electronic equipment through to in-orbit operational support.The group develop high performing digital communications payload equipment, which is at the forefront of the rapidly expanding UK space industry for a range of national and international customers. The products developed for these customers include Airbus OneSat, the first satellite of its kind capable of full in-orbit configurability.

Main activities of the role may include;

  • Challenging FPGA or ASIC design including DSP and high speed interfaces for flight hardware
  • Requirement definition and architecture decomposition
  • Detailed design and IP selection
  • Verification and emulation of flight designs
  • Integration of the ASIC / FPGA into the target hardware
  • Development of technical documentation

You will be able to demonstrate the following;

  • As a minimum, a 2:2 degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or related subject.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, presenting technical information clearly and concisely.
  • Able to contribute to a large, multi-disciplinary project team.
  • Experience of FPGA Design
