Our Media Networks team enables Arqiva’s broadcast customers to deliver their content (TV, radio or on-demand) to wherever people are watching or listening using Satellite, Fibre or Microwave Networks. The Networks team within Media Networks plan, design and build Arqiva’s network to connect broadcasters to Arqiva’s transmitters and On-demand platforms via IP, Fibre, Microwave or the Internet.
This is an exciting role which sits within our Networks Engineering team – IP design and build, and will be responsible for translating business requirements into technical requirements; completing network designs; testing those designs; developing network configuration; building network equipment (mainly Cisco), and loading network configuration to support new broadcast services over Arqiva’s network.
The role will work with the Network Design Authority, Project Managers, Security, Broadcast Engineers, Installation Contractors and Arqiva Operations teams as part of the design and build process
Working with the Network Design Authority
Creating network designs which detail the network protocols and infrastructure to be used
Porting allocations and IP Addressing
Building new network equipment for the customer or transmitter site
Configuring Arqiva IP network to connect customer and transmitter sites, working with on-site engineers.
Working with the Broadcast Engineer to test services
Handover of services to Arqiva customers and network operations
This role will be based at our vibrant campus, Crawley Court which is located approximately 6 miles from Winchester city centre. There may be an occasional need to travel to other sites for project meetings.
What we are looking for
Minimum 2:2 degree in Computer Science, Physics, Network Engineering, Telecommunications or similar.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal and the ability to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders and customers.
Passion for Network Engineering and willingness to learn and stay up to date with developments within this technology
Demonstrable experience in project management from design through to implementation would be advantageous.
A genuine interest in technology
Excellent problem-solving skills.
