We are looking for Graduate Software Engineers

We play a crucial role in the defence of the United Kingdom, by providing and maintaining the warheads for the country’s nuclear deterrent. We are a centre of scientific, engineering and technological excellence, with some of the most advanced research, design and production facilities in the world. Our unique expertise also assists the UK Government in developing and delivering a range of innovative and integrated support services, including national nuclear security and counter-terrorism solutions.

Our Future Careers programmes are multi award winning and we are growing our investment into new capabilities and skills.

Training will be provided to assist you in the design and development of tools and applications to support the scientific and engineering communities within our Warhead function. Successful candidate will have the opportunity to use popular technologies, such as Java, Gradle, Docker, Spring and Hibernate to develop rich web apps and standalone tools. Software Engineers will underpin the future of all major projects at AWE.

Knowledge with agile development, testing and continuous integration would be advantageous as well as general Computational skills such as Python, Java, C++.

In growing our capability across these areas, we will also be looking to grow your skills and knowledge as a Software Engineer with opportunities for development and progression across our programmes of work and within the core graduate development programme.

To be considered for these Graduate roles, you must have a degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science.  

Candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role.
