Type of opportunity:
You will be based in Bristol and over the course of the placement have the chance to apply your Human Factors knowledge in tackling challenging problems related to the nuclear industry. Working as part of multidisciplinary teams, you’ll ensure that we set our staff up for success in terms of having the right equipment, working environment, knowledge, procedures and organisational support to do their jobs safely.
You will be involved in a wide variety of challenging and exciting projects that cover the full design and safety lifecycle, in-service support, decommissioning, as well as incident investigation.
To ensure you get the most out of the experience, you will be assigned a buddy, mentor and manager. Regular performance reviews and sessions will be built into your time with us to assist your development. Opportunities will also include meeting a range of people, from graduates to directors, who will share their experiences and expand your industry knowledge.
Cavendish will help you develop a wide range of skills and give you the chance to work with supportive and knowledgeable professionals. This should provide you with invaluable experience to take back to university and build upon.
The placement, if all goes well, could lead to further employment on Cavendish’s accredited graduate scheme.
You’ll need to be studying for a degree in Human Factors, Ergonomics or related behavioural science subject (e.g. Applied Psychology, Cognitive Science or Systems Engineering). You’ll also need to satisfy the MOD’s security requirements (and may need to complete a medical assessment).
