Support achieving operational excellence across the BAE Submarines business through the delivery and co-ordination of strategically aligned business improvement projects. Ensures viable and sustainable solutions are developed using Continuous Improvement tools, techniques and project management principals taking into account process, systems, and people dynamics.

A key element of the role will involve working closely with a variety of stakeholders supported by clear communication and engagement strategies. While being responsible for the successful delivery of specific project elements, with more freedom of scope coming as experience develops.

Requirement also to assist in the development of functional capability training, coaching and mentoring for the wider Operational Excellence Function in Tools, Techniques and best practice

Follow your passion with the following responsibilities

  • Providing executive summaries, reports and presentations when required in supporting the assessment and analysis of current processes, procedures, systems, environment, business interfaces, culture, and ways of working and their respective performance
  • Identify opportunity and risk mitigation together with building specific project plans capable of delivering the required deliverables in a timely manner.
  • Utilise problem solving methodology to address root causes.
  • Develop and implement engagement strategies to ensure all key stakeholders support and champion any Operational Excellence initiatives.
  • Supporting the management of improvement projects throughout all stages of an improvement cycle, leading on specific elements.
  • Ensuring sustainability of implemented changes, to ensure a project will deliver desired benefits over the medium / long term
  • Assist in development of wider business stakeholders to ensure ongoing Improvement activity is sustainable once projects and initiatives end.
  • Provide coaching to support others in development of Operational Excellence Skills and understanding.

With experience a there are many leadership opportunities available.

As a minimum requirement you’ll need to have obtained, or be predicted to obtain, a 2.2 in your Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
