On an Undergraduate Placement, over 12 months, an individual would be expected to be involved in a number of areas in order to develop a broad understanding of the Digital function.
The SAMPSON Radar is the primary sensor on the Royal Navy’s Type-45 Destroyer. Though the Radar has been in service since 2006, the technology within it continues to be brought right up to date, as the Royal Navy demands many stretches to performance.
You will be allocated into a project and tasked as an engineering within the team. This is an opportunity to work at the cutting edge of technology on the SAMPSON radar, helping to design, model, and test high-speed digital designs as part of a small team. These designs are used for digital signal processing and real-time control of mixed-signal systems.
As a minimum requirement you’ll need to have obtained, or be predicted to obtain, a 2.2 in your Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
